The Best Mustang Routine Maintenance

While waiting for the spring thaw. I have been thinking of what mods I would like to do first. I have several on my mind but, what I'm going to do is. Start with basic routine maintenance. It would not matter what new mods I install. If the motor gives up or I blow a tire and crash. What's the point.
I started with the tires.I rotated and checked all four for proper inflation. They only have a few hundred miles on them.Tires should also be checked. They should only be checked when the car has not been driven for at least three hours so the tires are cold. Using a gauge made to measure the pressure in your tires, make sure the pressure is up to manufacturer’s specifications. If it’s down, put some air in the tires. Don't forget to do the spare as well. If the pressure level is too high, you can release some by pressing on the little pin found in the middle of the tire valve, also known as the valve stem.I use a digital gauge to check mine.

The best time to check the engine oil level on your Mustang is when the car is warm and on level ground. Stop the engine and wait a few minutes for the oil to settle, remove the dipstick and wipe it clean. Push the dipstick all the way in, wait a second, and then withdraw it and check the level. The oil should be between the two marks and not above the top mark or below the lower mark. Remember to push the dipstick fully in when refitting. If required, oil may be added through the oil filler cap opening (generally found on the top of the engine). To avoid overfilling, add about half-a-quart at a time and recheck the level on the dipstick. Remember to put the cap back on.
Use only oil of the correct viscosity and service rating as recommended by your vehicle's manufacturer or a reliable mechanic. I only use Mobil 1  5w-30 in my Mustang gt.I Change my oil and oil filter as specified in your manual -- more often (every 3,000 miles or so) if your driving is mostly stop-and-go or consists of frequent short trips. More often if I have been a little hard on her. If and when you decide to change your own oil , don't make a mess. Put down a few rags, use a funnel. I hate to get oil on the block or the floor.

Next up the rest of the under hood fluids and transmission.
